The Problem

Voice notes are everywhere — WhatsApp, Telegram, and other messaging apps have made audio the default communication format for millions of users. But listening to voice notes is slow, inconvenient in public, and impossible to search or skim. Users needed a way to convert voice messages to text without leaving the app they were already in.

Our Approach

Rather Labs built TranscribeMe as a WhatsApp and Telegram bot — no app download required. Users simply forward a voice note to the bot and receive an accurate text transcription in seconds, directly inside their existing chat interface.

Beyond transcription, the bot was extended with an intelligence layer:

Voice-to-text transcription — ~95% accuracy on clear audio across multiple languages, handling real-world conditions like background noise and varying accents.

AI chat via ChatGPT — Users can continue the conversation with a ChatGPT-powered assistant in the same thread, without switching apps.

YouTube link transcription — Paste a YouTube URL and receive a full transcript of the video.

Translation — Transcripts can be translated into other languages on demand.

Reminders — Voice-based reminder setting directly within the chat.

Outcome

TranscribeMe reached 2M+ active users and processed 30M+ transcripts, making it one of Rather Labs' most widely adopted products. Its distribution model — meeting users inside WhatsApp and Telegram rather than requiring a separate app — proved to be the key differentiator over traditional transcription tools.
